The gut wall relies on friendly bacteria for nutrition. Cultured foods are the most powerful and cost-effective way to supply the gut with friendly bacteria.

That’s great the the mother is exploring all options for her son. I’m happy to hear about the success in using Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN). Some people use LDN as a temporary crutch while their gut is being healed. Once the gut is healed, they no longer need LDN.

Autism, like other diagnosis, is a description of symptoms. Perhaps diet and gut health do not explain every case of autism, but they surely play a role in the vast majority. Also, there is no downside to creating a healthy gut. :)

You can recover from a disease, yet autism is a syndrome -_- the best thing you can do, is trying to deal with it as good and as bad as it goes

    I agree …
I agree wholeheartedly that autism is correlated with digestion in some way. However, I have seen many cases of autism in children with healthy immune systems throughout their development. In fact my brother has always had a healthy immune system yet he developed a moderate to low functioning form of autism. I do believe that these women are on to something, but I don’t think they have quite hit the bulls eye yet.

    My husbands niece …
My husbands niece uses a similar diet for her son who has autism with some success. But when he also added a medicine called LDN (to boost the immune system)he had amazing changes. In 10 days he had a 5 word vocabulary they did not know he had, he was looking into his families faces & interacting with them, & he was playing with his toys rather than lining them up. A month later his sensory issues were gone. He used to scream when he touched water, now they cant get him out of the bathtub.
