   That comment is proof you don’t even know what ADHD is. ADHD does not equal stupidity. Albert Einstein is thought to have had ADD, as well as many great thinkers throughout history. I was diagnosed with ADD as a kid, as well as being gifted. Telling me “the more convincing you argue the more you prove it” and to “start writing crap” shows you believe ADHD=low intelligence. You also think ADHD doesn’t exist because it is over diagnosed and you’ve never known anyone that actually has it.

   Only about 15% of people diagnosed with ADD actually have it. And out of those 10& of the youth that you claim, in reality only 1-3% of the youth are really abnormal and sick. And obviously society me up, that doesn’t mean I don’t have ADD. I can’t function in this society with my ‘disorder’. I wouldn’t have any problems with my ADD if I grew up in a society that allowed for me to excel with creativity and live comfortably. The whole point is society me up. get it?

    ADD is real, and I’m most likely going to commit suicide because of it. It’s the root of all my issues in life, and yes it is real, I’m finally starting to accept that it’s real and that I have it, but I’m already 20 years old and never accepted treatment so I’m basically for life.

    I’ve got my associates and am working on a B.A.

    Granted my education is limited but I say it’s easy to diagnose a hyper activity disorder. (notice i didn’t say ADHD). There are specific behaviors we can see that point it out, that all have to do with dopamine.

    When you’re focused, you’re on a dopamine kick. ever have bug eyes working on the car for 7 hours straight? or see your kid won’t let go of his video game? It’s all interest and 5yos are not interested in geography and math.

    Fact is, there is no unified test for ADD, ADHD, etc. So, for every child that “needs” the drugs, 39 other children are being fed Ritalin (Sorry for the spelling error. Firefox doesn’t correct spelling for bullshit medication).

    Do the numbers reflect the actual incidence? No.
    Is it over diagnosed? Yes.
    Is it being diagnosed by people who shouldn’t be doing so? Yes.
    Is it a more prevalent disease amongst certain socio-economic stratums? Yes.
    Is it a popular or convenience disease? Yes.
    Is it a mechanism to alleviate responsibility for many people? Yes.
    Is it an effort to feel unique for some? Yes.
    Ample research proving it’s organic? Yes.
    Near identical behaviorally to SCD? Yes

    Good video but a fair amount of false information was provided. ADHD is in fact an organic disease having more in common with Tourette Syndrome than with schizophrenia. Attempting to diagnose ADHD from behavior alone, particularly without exclusionary diagnosis is not possible. A family doctor should not diagnose it either.More common todayis social conduct disorder precipitated by family environment. Best indicator of a disease the consistency of the symptoms, not the diagnosis over time.

    I understand antipsychiatry as feedback for the psychiatry - to ensure a humanistic treatment - against electroshock and pro slf-determination as examples. And i dont understand the psychiatric diagnosys as stigma per se. If You dont want go in the army You can go to the psychiater. If You have some mental illnes or handicap, You can use a psychiatric diagnosis to ensure, Your enviroment accept Your special needs.

    I think both our outlines of the notion of ‘anitpsychiatry’ are applicable. Defining ‘antipsychiatry’ is difficult as it may allude to a number of stance. Not only that, but clinicans and theorists considered ‘antipshicatric’ often denouce the label put upon them.
