It really depends on the doctor…. Normally it could be a psych or a family doc with the visit to a counselor.
If you dont have insurance the meds can be very costly, my vyvanse says "your insurance saved you $128.99. ". my copayment is the same but must insurance plans it varies.
Some doctors will make you take tests on the computer to show that you really are ADD because the abuse of the medications.
They may give you the non addictive Strattera since you cant come in on a regular basis to be checked in on. I dont think a doctor will keep on writing C-II drugs over and over again with out seeing you. References :
Is it for you or a child? Adults and Kids ARe a visit a month and then dor adults I think it 1 every 3 months but I think kids stay at 1 month References :
Watching as your child tries so hard to concentrate, gets frustrated and careens off into another hyperactive tantrum . . .
Receiving call after call from exhausted and angry teachers . . .
Feeling that pit of shame and concern in your stomach as you watch grades slip further and further . . .
Lying awake at night wondering (and with good reason) about the horrible, lasting effects of ADD/ADHD medications . . . feeling guilty . . .feeling like a failure . . . . feeling judged . . .
