About The Medicated Child, Bipolar, ADHD, Psychiatry

Dr. John Breeding has a Ph.D. is psychology. He comments about the recent PBS Frontline Documentary, The Medicated Child. 6 million U.S. Children are taking psychiatric drugs for ADHD, Bipolar and other mental disorders. Good psychiatry, experimentation or kid drugging for profit? Do these medications promote good mental health or do they create a population of people on disability?

No doubt you are one of us or have in the family a psychiatrist, you are on defense of what fuk? Nothing solid there is, NOTHING! no one cured but instead they became worse JUST because they were putted on drugs!!! Aparently does good but little by little the drugs become useless, increase the doze…change the pills, IT IS A STUPID GAME FOR PSYCHIATRY, ALL IN THE NAME OF MONEY! plaese defend your case alone in the woods, noane buys anymore, people gets aware of it!

Stupid fuk,u need help, among some other things have studied,I graduated having my diploma project on schizophrenia, worked 2 years in the field, don’t tell me about it.I know from inside that the movie “Psychiatry an Industry of Death”has grasped all the meaning it is on the matter,I saw people looked upon like beeing clients not pacients I have seen this also happening with the doctors in psichiatry wich have been chiefs of promotion,so shut the opened as a pathetic justification of a mouth

    You need help, no …
You need help, no doub about it. Are you saying that schizophrenia is not a real condition? Have you done a search looking for MRIs of schizophrenics or demented individuals.
I can understand that you had a bad experience with a poorly trained doctor but that should not cloud your mind to the point of saying that water is a solid matter.
Please, get help before it is too late.

    psychiatry is a …
psychiatry is a suckage, a very big one, only money…nothing scientific, how right John Breeding is wheb he says that a shrink sees a child being overenthusiastic and imediately gives him pills for bipolar or ADHD. The mad people are THE PARENTS here! The children are so! They have imaginary friends, are passing wildly through different states of mind…that’s why they are children! PSYCHIATRY HAS NOT ACHIEVED ANYTHING TILL TODAY, EXCEPT KILLING WITH GOOD INTENTIONS AND LEGALY!

    Obvously some …
Obvously some people are looking for enjoyment, satisfaction happyness. If popping pill gives you that, its gotta be stronger than extacy.. those pills are not going to make you attract girls, will not make you do better in school, or activities which is ultimately what people seek for..

    I personally think …
I personally think if you are evaluated of having mental illness, the problem gets bigger, surrendering yourself that you have a problem, probably a mind thing. Plus if you look at your life closely theres probably many things you can do that will benefit you physically and mentally. I think the key is asking yourself
    enough food?
    water?
    excercise?
    positive awareness?
enjoyment? i mean, these the more you dont have these stuff you can end up being depressed

    Little Jessica was …
Little Jessica was probably quoting a tv show in the pbs video when she said those “fantasitcial” things. And it got her doped up.
I wonder what the future holds in the way of fantasy writing since all of the artists will be too doped up by the stoic adults in their lives to imagine anything. Being a child is under attack. Children have been dreaming, throwing tantrums and acting like children for thousands of years and now it’s against the law…1984.

    I’ve watched this …
I’ve watched this twice and finally went to watch that PBS video. Once I saw Brain Matters talking their garbage on the Dr. Phil show, I just had to put my head in my hands and sigh. Just some social worker sitting there making things up, repeating verbatim what she’s been told to say without any real understanding of medicine… then they get their applause and you just wonder what the is wrong with everyone. It’s almost as if everyone but the kid is the one with the mental problem.

    Yes, but you have …
Yes, but you have to remember that stimulants work the opposite way in people with ADHD. If a regular person takes it, it will be like that, but in someone with genuine ADHD it can calm the mind down because it’s already naturally acting as if it was on a stimulant… if that makes sense.

    Don’t me wrong, I …
Don’t me wrong, I think over medicating children is wrong, especially when psychiatrists are always pushing the latest drug. In my opinion it should be the opposite. Push the drugs that have been used the longest and we know some of the long-term side-effects. But, I have seen Adderall work miracles for me. For the 1st time in my life I felt like things slowed down in my head and I could actually relax. If someone has ADHD a lot worse than I do then it might just help them.

    I have ADHD and …
I have ADHD and Adderall XR actually helped me a lot, but I stopped using it because I can’t be dependent on a medication for the rest of my life, ya know? I tried regular Adderall, too, but that made my heart race and made me feel really weird. My family is very against psychiatric medication of any kind and don’t believe ADHD is real, so it took me a while to get it recognized, but when I did it made a lot of sense looking back at my behavior even when I was like 5.

    That pbs vid breaks …
That pbs vid breaks my heart. Labeling and drugging any person against their will should be illegal based on human rights. Have they broken a law?
And labeling and drugging children for “undesired behavior” has got to warrant the most severe in the afterlife.
I can’t look away from injustice and just go escape. I will fight this evil with my money and my energy until I’m not on this planet anymore.

    I don’t know if …
I don’t know if anyone else has noticed, but with the past few years it seems to have become trendy to answer these questionaires along the lines of “how psychotic are you?” or “what personality disorder do you have?”

It is just really weird how that is deemed cool and put on myspace profiles or whatever… This video made me think of that.

Ritalin is synthetic Cocaine, it has some of the chemical properties of methamphetamine, which would be bad enough, but the effects are equal to cocaine in every way.

    Zoloft kills people …
Zoloft kills people, go to the AMA’s website and look up the unbiased trials. Have your parents look too. It’s not safe for adults, much less children. Suicide and homicide rates while on zoloft are anywhere from double to triple…

    My best friend in …
My best friend in H.S. started taking ritalin at age 6, he quickly moved on to adderall, this was all for “ADD”. All that was really wrong was his mother didn’t have time for a hyper kid. At age 25, STILL on Adderall, he had a severe psychotic break, began talking to ppl that didn’t exist, saw “demons” wherever he looked, and attempted suicide 5 times in one week. All because his parents didn’t feel like dealing with a hyper child. These drugs WILL destroy your life, it’s just a matter of when.

    it really is a …
it really is a shame the drug cocktails that “doctors” are giving to the children.
drug treatment is not the answer, it only causes more problems. take adderall, the amphetamine cocktail in that has lead to mass abuse in the states. isn’t it in a doctors code to “do no harm”?

im 13 by the way, hear lots of stuff from parents and stuff) and i was labled OCD. Well heres the thing, my mot put me on the pills for about 5 months. I felt extremly tired. Sometimes I cared less about school work because it was making me lose my emotion and my worrying. I asked if i could get back off it. i think i feel better without “Zoloft” .Those doctors think they are perfect.I will never get is Zoloft is for 18 year olds.Meds don’t hep, religion and hard work is the key.

    im not extremly …
im not extremly sure but i think Rittlen or that drug for ADD aka, ADHD could give promblems to the liver. What I dislike about these medications is that they change who you are, or your friends, family etc. Also they treat 3 year olds like lab rats for tests. Now also, the body is probably getting adapted to the meds. Making it as if the body needs it. So in other words, don’t get off it soon and you might need it your rest of your life.

I agree with you completely, and what I think is that schooling, education, and actual interaction, actions, are much more effective than theories(not to disregard theory). Being proactive I believe is what its going to take.
